Aquamarine

Named after the Latin for seawater, aquamarine has been said to calm waves and keep sailors safe at sea. Aquamarine is the soft pale blue variety of the Beryl family of gemstones, which also includes Morganite, Goshenite, Yellow Beryl and Emerald. One of the most popular blue gemstones, Aquamarine is steeped in myth and legend. Aquamarine is a beryl, part of the same family as emerald and is mainly found in Argentina, Australia, Brazil, China, Africa, Russia, India and Sri Lanka. Colours range from very light aqua to deep denim blue – some of the most beautiful gems come from Brazil with a blue that is really strong and vibrant.

Aquamarine is said to be a physical, mental and emotional balancer – and we could all do with some of that right now!
